Hope One Mobile Response Unit Offers Services at the Atlantic City Bus Terminal

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Members of a local sheriff's office stepped out into the community to help fight the opioid epidemic.

On Tuesday, January 29th, the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office's Hope One Mobile Response Unit stopped by the Atlantic City Bus Terminal to offer services and resources to members of the community who may be struggling with drug addiction, or have a loved one who is.

Officials say they have seen great success with the program and look forward to seeing it continue to grow and make a positive impact in the community.

"I feel that I have a purpose and a calling for this," said Scott Gras, coordinator of Hope One AC. "I've been doing this for quite some time and I love every minute of watching somebody go into treatment and get out of treatment and continue on their path of recovery."

The Hope One programs works to connect those struggling from addiction or mental illness with the resources they need.

Hope One also works to educate the community about addiction and provides free Narcan training, as well as a place for residents to safely dispose of used needles.
